Out in the Streets - Gallery Tour
The DNC in Chicago 1968 was a focal point of the decade. People were beaten; tear gas was everywhere as police lines advanced through the demonstrators. What happened in Chicago changed our political and cultural institutions and, as a result, shaped our current political and cultural life. Out in the Streets will feature many of the dramatic images captured by some of the nation’s top photographers who were caught in the crossfire. If we understand Chicago 1968, we will understand not only a major event in our history but we will also better understand who we are today.
